The Rhino Living Story

Dave Magrogan attributes much of his success to living a Rhino's life— jumping in full steam ahead and in a short period of time, accomplishing his set goals. Because of his success and his ability to motivate others, Dave enjoys training thousands of others in how to put into action his Rhino Living philosophy—including his 600 staff members. Do nothing small and make an audacious impact!

After seeing Dave speak at an Exton Chamber luncheon in October 2008, Molly Nece approached Dave about developing a training and consulting company around his Rhino Living philosophy.  With Molly's ten years of experience in sales, marketing, training, organizational development, and most importantly—her Rhino Attitude—it was a perfect match! April 15th they officially launched their fun adventure and have been charging and helping others reach their wildest dreams and their full Rhino potential.

As a result of Dave's inspiration, people are able to clear their mental clutter, set goals, develop action plans, and make dreams into realities. Dave has studied, researched and developed over 20 important laws that will determine people's success in life; however, there are four basic Laws of the Jungle that form the foundation for all other laws of success.  According to Dave, if you break these laws, you can never achieve true success.

Accomplishments

At 36 years of age, Dave has achieved many personal and professional accomplishments and accreditation, a list more common for someone twice his age.  He has been a finalist in the 2006 and 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year competition.  He was also recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the region’s “40 Under 40” in 2007 and by the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry as its 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year.  He also received the Small Business Administrations Entrepreneurial Success Award for 2008, and his company was rank number 26 in Philadelphia’s Fastest growing 100 Companies.  Most recently, Kildares in Philly was ranked #7 in the world for best Irish Pub.  The list goes on...

Passion & Drive

Although Dave's chiropractic businesses were successful, Dave never lost his passion for the restaurant industry.  In 2003, he made a bold decision to pursue his dream and founded The Dave Magrogan Group.  Dave has always believed in following his passion.  As his passion for chiropractic decreased, his passion for creating brands and concepts increased. Six months later, he sold his practices and began creating the authentic Irish experience known today as Kildare’s Irish Pub.  Dave opened Kildare’s in West Chester, PA in May of 2003.  His love for Ireland and authentic Irish cuisine led him to open an additional five Kildare’s locations in just four years.

In October 2006, Dave launched his second concept, Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House, in West Chester, PA.  This success was followed by helping launch Pat Croce’s Rum Barrel in Key West and the Southeastern PA division of Two Men and a Truck moving company. Dave’s ultimate goal is to open 25 restaurants up and down the I-95 corridor and leave a legacy of ‘Give. Love. Serve'.  He's well on his way with six new restaurants opening over the next six months, including two new brands--Mas Mexicali Cantina and Harvest.

Childhood

Dave was raised in the little town of Brookhaven by a single mother and shared the house with his two sisters.  While his mother couldn’t give Dave “things”, he learned very early in life that what she gave him was worth more than all the things money could buy.  She gave him the encouragement and confidence that he could do anything he set his mind too.  Although, Dave wasn’t the smartest one of his family, he was determined to be a doctor at a very young age.

Education

Dave knew what it meant to work hard. At the age of 12 he became a dishwasher at the Lobster Pot in Media, PA.  For the next several years he worked various positions including server, bartender, cook and manager. Dave now boasts more than 22 years of experience in the restaurant industry and has held positions at all levels of operations and management.  While working in the restaurant industry, Dave completed his Pre-Medicine studies at West Chester University and Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta. He went on to build two of the largest family practices in Delaware County, PA and personally treated over 800 patients a week.
